Hello September.

Thu Sep 24, 2009, 12:57 PM
Back to school, doing some work for classes. It's on my list to photograph pictures of my work (I've been doing primarily 3D) so I can update this page. Maybe if I do something I really like in my Digital Imaging class, I'll add it, but I'm still getting used to this whole not using paper or metal or clay thing.

Ode to my black zip-up

Mon Aug 10, 2009, 12:40 PM
There are certain types of people in the world. As a whole, we love to categorize each other. Categorizing people is one of my favorite past times. The other day I had a realization that some people are black zip-up people, and some people just see it as another clothes accessory. I am a black zip-up person. The definition of this? You believe it goes with almost everything, the sleeve is your handkerchief or toothbrush (if you forgot to brush your teeth that morning; you know it happens), you rarely wash it either because taking the time to do so would be an inconvenience or because you just don't think about it. It is as though the zip-up is a graduated security blanket. Why was I thinking such deep thoughts of my black zip-up? My sister had borrowed it and held onto it for over a week. When I got it back (she had thoughtfully washed it for me), one of the first things I did when I put it on was wipe my nose on the sleeve. After realizing this was how I treated my zip-up, I decided I should probably warn her to buy her own black zip-up, since she sees them as clothes accessories and I have a love affair with mine.

Cesar Millan needs to work in my salon.

I'm alive. And skipping class. Posted some work I found on my laptop that I never got around to putting up. It's just 3 old pieces. The drawing isn't all that good but I like the contrast and the stone detail. The mosquitoes, for some reason, are still bad and I have the worst bites, one on my elbow, and one on my hand where it meets the base of my pinky finger. Anyway, I haven't done any work this year. I'm making a sweet mask for Halloween so maybe I'll post a pic of that when it's finished. As for now, I'm going to read with my "free" [I actually have a presentation to create for tomorrow on Shepard Fairey <3 and Judith Schaecter for my curating class] time.

[Edit] Talking to a vegetarian about eating animals is not fun. Even talking to one about vegetables is apparently not a good idea. My roommate is converted to vegetarianism is the last year or so and I just tried to discuss it with her and she defensively bit my head off. I was just trying to make a point that vegetables are killed in their prime but vegetarians are ok with that because vegetables don't have personalities and can't fight back. Talk about awkward. [/Edit]

Until next time,
X

Junior year has begun. Great. I'm taking no studio classes. Too much to fulfill. Just wanted to give a quick update. Birthday is in 30 days. =] It's going to be a good semester. Now I'm working on studying abroad in New Zealand. It would be awesome to be able to do that. Nothing really new in my life. I'll update later.
