There are certain types of people in the world. As a whole, we love to categorize each other. Categorizing people is one of my favorite past times. The other day I had a realization that some people are black zip-up people, and some people just see it as another clothes accessory. I am a black zip-up person. The definition of this? You believe it goes with almost everything, the sleeve is your handkerchief or toothbrush (if you forgot to brush your teeth that morning; you know it happens), you rarely wash it either because taking the time to do so would be an inconvenience or because you just don't think about it. It is as though the zip-up is a graduated security blanket. Why was I thinking such deep thoughts of my black zip-up? My sister had borrowed it and held onto it for over a week. When I got it back (she had thoughtfully washed it for me), one of the first things I did when I put it on was wipe my nose on the sleeve. After realizing this was how I treated my zip-up, I decided I should probably warn her to buy her own black zip-up, since she sees them as clothes accessories and I have a love affair with mine.
